Interactive Fun! Becomes Lodestone Digital
Charlotte, NC, August 5, 2003 – InteractiveFun!, a certified Macromedia and Adobe software training partner established in 1998, has changed its name to Lodestone Digital. The new name reflects an expansion in the company’s service offerings to add production, consulting and co-development to its classroom and on-site training service line. Lodestone Digital will consult clients on implementing effective workflows for managing digital media and will execute creative and technical production functions using a variety of software products. The company also will co-develop solutions with clients, in which Lodestone Digital aids in creating and delivering content while transferring mission-critical knowledge.
“The expansion of our service line reflects the organic growth of InteractiveFun!,” stated Josh Cavalier, founder and president of Lodestone Digital. “We started InteractiveFun! to fulfill a market need for multimedia and web software training. As we worked with Fortune 1000 and smaller companies, we found that software training was only part of the solution. By introducing process automation, our clients achieve higher workflow efficiencies and bottom line results. Changing our name to Lodestone Digital represents the formalization of what’s been coming for some time now.”
While certified Adobe and Macromedia classroom and on-site training remain an important component of Lodestone Digital’s service line, the new approach allows for more flexibility and adaptability.
About the Lodestone Digital Business Model
The Lodestone Digital business model centers around knowledge transfer in all aspects of digital media creation and distribution. This applies to software choice, the software skills of the workers, and the processes they use to do their work. “ With Bank of America, for example, we’ve trained more than 500 associates on the Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash applications, with specific curriculum designed to address specific day-to-day competencies,” said Cavalier.
“We also have worked with large and small groups when they’re converting from one software application to another to bring everyone up to speed without losing critical workflow that may affect that company’s bottom line.” Each solution or combination of solutions offered by Lodestone Digital is unique for each client company, and is the result of a careful assessment of needs, in which business goals are aligned with relevant, productive tasks.
About the Lodestone Digital Name
When Cavalier began InteractiveFun! In 1998, he chose a name focused on the classroom training experience. He also chose a name that reflected the group’s philosophy of turning the perceived drudgery of classroom training into an enjoyable, more fulfilling experience. This philosophy permeated through InteractiveFun!, and is largely responsible for its success. Client companies became repeat customers and entrusted the group with more responsibility through customized in-house training and consulting projects.
“ As our new business model evolved, we realized that InteractiveFun! speaks exclusively to just one-third of what we do. We felt, too, that the name InteractiveFun! is not accurately perceived by our expanded market as a potential strategic business partner,” said Cavalier. “So we embarked as a group on a quest to find a name that better reflected our true identity.” The name Lodestone Digital reflects a foundation of guidance, and its new logo reflects a critical transfer of knowledge from peer to peer. Literally, a lodestone is the magnetized metal object that drives a compass.
